The Slug and Lettuce in Albert Square, Manchester, is to close on Monday, 24 March and will reopen on Friday, 4 April after an investment of £230,000, which will see the creation of four new jobs.

The investment will also see the introduction of Costa Coffee, which will mean guests can pop in for their morning coffee and breakfast from 10am seven days a week. Costa Coffee will offer guests their choice of hot drinks throughout the day including Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, hot chocolate as well as a range of teas.

The venue will open until 12am Monday to Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 1am and Sunday until 11pm.

Guests will also get to experience the new Slug and Lettuce cocktail menu, which includes the Rumberry Mojito, Blackberry and Elderflower Pimms and Cinnamon Bomb.
An extended wine menu boasts world wines such as New Zealand Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc, USA Chardonnay Terlato, Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Cornalines and for that special occasion the Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut and Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut.

Owned and operated by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, the Slug and Lettuce, will host a special celebration to showcase the new-look on 4 April from 4pm. The venue will then open to the public from 6pm.

Guests will be able to enjoy canapés, a mini cocktail masterclass and the first 100 people to enter the venue on the guest list will receive a Peroni goodie bag and a free Bellini cocktail.

The venue is having a complete overhaul with the new look Slug and Lettuce including new décor, furniture, toilets and backbar.

Speaking about the investment at the Slug and Lettuce, general manager Christian Ejiofor said: “I think this will be amazing for the venue and will allow us to compete in a crowded market.

“The staff can’t wait and the bartenders are really keen to show off their skills in the new bar area.”

The Slug and Lettuce will continue with its great food and drink offer. The site will open every day offering breakfasts together with a range of lunch and dinner options which now include a ‘under 500-calorie’ menu, the popular platter range and mix of steak, fish, vegetarian and seasonal options.

Children can also choose from a range of tasty options from the under 8’s menu. On Sunday’s the ‘Kids For A Quid’ promotion means that for every adult dining at full price a child can eat for £1. Guests can also receive 50% off their food bill on ‘Happy Mondays’, while ‘Tikka Tuesdays’ offers 2 for 1 curries and ‘Wine Down Wednesday’ offers selected wines (except sparkling and champagne) for £11.45.

In addition to the extensive wine offer and cocktails guests can also look forward to a range of world beers, free Wi-Fi and Costa coffee.
