Stonegate Pub Company’s HR team is set to take on one of the toughest endurance challenges the UK has to offer – the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Raising money for the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC), Stonegate’s intrepid HR team will climb three summits over 25 miles in less than 12 hours on Thursday 3 October.

The LTC helps pubs, bar and brewery people when they are in need of help. They support hundreds of people facing a crisis with practical, emotional and financial support each year. The LTC helpline is available 24/7, 365 days a year. Their goal is to help people in the trade to get back on their feet and in 2018 they helped over 13,000 people and gave away almost £1.1m in grants.

Tim Painter, HR Director of Stonegate Pub Company, said: “We are delighted to be raising money for the LTC, they have supported a number of our colleagues over the years and they continue to do so. It is great that we are able to give something back to them.

“This is a huge challenge for the team and I am anxiously making my final preparations for the climb. I am sure it will be a great day and we will make some great memories.”

Jim Brewster, Chief Executive of the Licensed Trade Charity, said: “We are delighted that Stonegate staff are undertaking this challenge to raise money for the Licensed Trade Charity. It is testimony to how important our support to their staff is that they want to raise money for us and give something back.

“We help pub, bar and brewery staff, through counselling and advice, to overcome obstacles and help them get back on top of things. So in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge the Stonegate team have found a highly appropriate way to contribute to the financial support we provide to industry staff each year, which totals over £1m of financial aid covering anything from rehousing and recovering from ill health to educational grants.”

This incredible challenge comes a month after Stonegate’s marketing and digital team raised over £2,500 for Bliss and Alzheimer’s Society by climbing Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales.
