Local pub The Harrow was crowned ‘Best Town Centre Pub’ at the annual Harrow Best Bar None Awards, which took place recently at Harrow District Masonic Centre.

Best Bar None is a national Home Office backed scheme which promotes responsible alcohol consumption and higher professional licensing standards in pubs, bars and clubs. Venues must pass rigorous assessments to become part of the scheme and work in partnership with the police and local authorities to ensure the safety of both customers and staff.

A friendly pub on Station Road in Harrow town centre, The Harrow, which was recently refurbished, is a popular sports and party venue, with a great food and drink offering. The pub prides itself on being a safe and welcoming establishment; it won the title of ‘Best Town Centre Pub’ thanks to its excellent staff training and safety standards.

Commenting on the award win, General Manager, Hesham Badra, said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been recognised as the best pub in Harrow town centre and I am really proud of the whole team for helping us win this award. Getting involved in Best Bar None has been really beneficial for us. We are famous for our late-night entertainment, but we also attract a lot of families during the day. Day or night, we take the health and safety of our staff and customers very seriously.”

Harrow’s Best Bar None scheme, which has been running for three years, is led by the council, the Metropolitan Police and Harrow Business Improvement District (BID), working in partnership with the private sector to help make Harrow a safe place for people to enjoy its pubs, clubs and restaurants.
