Pub-goers in Derby are in for a treat this January when the Friary reopens following a £300,000 investment.

With a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, the Friary is the ideal place to meet with friends any day of the week. The revamp includes a new bar layout and pool tables as well as a multitude of new HDTV screens showcasing the wide range of sport that is taking place in 2019 – from football and boxing to cricket and the increasingly popular NFL. And with Six Nations Rugby kicking off in early February, there’ll be no better place to enjoy the games.

The food menu has also been kickstarted and now features a vegan chilli and rice, Jackfruit Bao Buns and a Jackfruit burger amongst other plant-based delights. There is also a wide selection of burgers, all-day breakfasts, sharers and tasty mains to choose from and the drinks list is second-to-none, featuring local beers, craft ales and ciders including Arch Brewery, Beavertown and Lilley’s Cider. For those seeking something soft or special there is an extensive wine list, cocktails galore and a selection of wholesome drinks to choose from, including fruit, veg and protein smoothies.

The pub will also be home to weekly offers and events. Pancake Tuesdays and Wing Wednesdays will see pancakes or chicken wings priced at just 25p, while Thursdays will be host to Karaoke nights and the legendary Speed Quizzing night will take place on Fridays. Guests can also end the week on a high note with free pool between 6pm and 9pm every Sunday.

General Manager, Danny Williams says: “We are incredibly excited to relaunch our pub to the people of Derby. Not only is the new look amazing but our menu offers a great range of food and drink. And if that’s not enough, our regular events and offers will give constant reasons for people to pop in. We look forward to welcoming everyone in throughout 2019 and can’t wait to hear their feedback.”
