Stonegate Pub Company Chairman Ian Payne, MBE picked up the coveted British Beer and Pub Association Chairman’s Award at the industry leaders annual dinner in London, (10th October).  

 BBPA Chairman Simon Emeny said, “Ian is a man who I believe has inspired a generation of people. He is a real leader who has been working in pubs for 46 years – starting his career in the licensed trade behind the bar at the age of 19. He has consistently walked the walk, literally around his entire pub estate – knowing all his staff by name and promoting them on merit – never losing his down to earth manner and sense of fun. Ian is a massive champion of the pub and well deserved of the award.”

 The award completes a hat-trick of recognition for Stonegate with two awards presented at the sectors Dawn to Dusk Awards earlier in the week, (Monday 8th) with the company picking up Best in Service and Team Delivery and the overall Best Late Night Company accolade.
