£100,000 Makeover For the Bridgewater in Darwen

The Bridgewater in Darwen will reopen on Monday 1st October, following a short closure for a makeover, thanks to a £100,000 investment by managing operator Stonegate Pub Company.

Regulars will notice the change as soon as they walk past, as the new modern decor has been applied both outside and in. Everything from the bar area to the toliets has been spruced up; a 75inch HD TV will have been installed and all booths will now have their own TV screens, so customers can watch all the big match action close up.

To celebrate the fresh new look, the pub will host a party on Friday 5th October, and everyone is welcome! Guest DJ Helen Stelling Holt will be hitting the decks from 9pm and entertainment will include a close up magician, fire-breathers and stilt walkers.

As well as the makeover, The Bridgewater will also have a brand new menu featuring an extended selection of veggie and vegan specials, as well as burgers, kid’s meals, and much more.

Vegetarian and vegan customers can enjoy a range of specially formulated recipes that take traditional pub-grub well and truly into the future, with dishes including a Cauliflower and Dhansak Curry and a Thai Lentil Pie, topped with an innovative coconut crumble.

Four of the pub’s most popular ‘King Feast’ dishes will now feature permanently on the menu as ‘Big Plate Specials’; customers can choose from a Giant Curry, Chicken Feast, Pie Shop Platter or Sausage & Mash Mountain (also available as a vegetarian option featuring veggie sausages).

A wider selection of burgers have been added to the already popular burger menu, with the Mac and Cheese Burger and the Surf and Turf Burger set to become firm favourites, as well as Fish Fingers and Grilled Halloumi making their way onto the Children’s Menu.

General Manager, Gary Smith, can’t wait to welcome customers in to show off the revamped pub. He said: “It looks fresh, clean and modern and customers are going to love it! We’ll be showing all the big matches so sports fans will be well catered for, but even if sport isn’t your thing, the new menu has some thing for everyone. We hope to see as many people as possible at the launch party, it’s going to be a night to remember!”

Other reasons to visit include the addition of a Smart Phone Quiz, on Thursday nights, 2-4-1 hand-made cocktails, all day every day, and the Bridgewater’s reputation for being the best place to party in Darwen. The pub will also be hosting a ‘What’s your favourite scary movie?’ themed Halloween Party, as well as a range of live music nights, with performance from ‘The Rockin’ Horses’, local soloist, Matt Walsh, an Adele tribute night, and a Bavarian Oompah band!

Already looking forward the Christmas, the Bridgewater is currently taking bookings for the festive period, whether it’s for tasty three-course meal, a delicious Christmas Buffet or simply a festive round of drinks, with friends and family.
