Congrats to Tayla at the Graduate
Tayla James, Deputy Manager of the Graduate, on Surrey Street, in Sheffield, is celebrating her Graduation from the Accelerator Programme, a training course run by the pub’s managing operator, Stonegate Pub Company.
The graduation ceremony, saw Tayla present the culmination of her work over the last four months, to members of the Stonegate Learning and Development Team and HR Director, Tim Painter, before being presented with a certificate.
Tayla is is one this year’s 125 talented employees to be selected from Stonegate’s sites, to take part in the course. The programme included a practical component, organising and producing a fundraiser for a chosen charity, for which Tayla picked Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
With the help of her team, Tayla organised a number of events throughout the World Cup that saw her raise over £300 for the charity. There was a selection of games for customers to get involved in, from a classic sweepstake, to ‘Guess the Minute’ and ‘Guess the Mini Footballs in the Jar’, as well as a raffle, full of exciting prizes donated by local businesses.
The Accelerator Programme is designed to give employees the tools to bridge the gap between Deputy Manager and General Manager, through education and dynamic group learning. The course aims to build the participant’s confidence, encourage continued independent learning and help them to work together effectively as team.
“We had some really generous support from so many people in the area!” said Tayla, “The Children’s Hospital means a lot to everyone, so for me, it was the obvious choice of charity. The staff there do such important work and make such a difference in the people’s lives they touch, it’s great we can support them in whatever way we can.
“I’m so pleased to be graduating from the Accelerator Programme! It’s been a lot of hard work, but it’s been totally worth it. I really feel like I’ve grown as a person over the last few months.”
HR Director, Tim Painter, said, “A massive congratulations to Tayla and everyone who graduated from the Accelerator Programme last week! We are immensely proud of our graduates, whose drive and commitment over the last four months has really shown them to be exceptional employees. We look forward to seeing them thrive in our business and wish them every success in the future.”
The Accelerator Programme in now in its 20th graduation cycle and has seen nearly 200 Deputy Managers progress to mangerial positions, while raising over £300,000 for UK Charities between them.
