Milton Keynes North MP and Armed Forces Minister Mark Lancaster, took time out to visit Popworld in Milton Keynes this week to go behind the scenes of the £500,000 investment that completed at the end of April.

The addition of Popworld has brought nineties’ cheese and noughties’ nostalgia to MK. The format has forged a legendary status across the UK by providing memorable nights filled with fun, laughter and the best pop tunes in town.

Mark was introduced to the front and back of house team, learning of Stonegate’s apprenticeships and careers in management.

Mr Lancaster commented: “The rejuvenation of 12th Street in the theatre district is truly remarkable and Popworld is a very welcome addition to the transformation.  Their concept and emphasis is about having fun with “cheesy” tunes and I’m looking forward to an evening out with Mrs Lancaster!”

“We were delighted that Mark came to meet us with Popworld becoming one of the most popular and fastest growing clubbing brands in the UK. We’re here to get Milton Keynes partying, but it’s also great to be recognised for investment and employment in the town,“ said Jamie Hogwood, General Manager at Popworld Milton Keynes.

Operations Director for Stonegate Pub Company, who was on hand to chat with Mr Lancaster said: “We appreciate Mark visiting Popworld to see the refurbishment and to meet the local team.  This investment forms part of our annual £50 Million spend developing our pubs across the country providing enhanced community facilities, creating jobs and careers for people of all ages. Hospitality is an important business sector generating significant income for government and we are pleased that our local MP recognises the importance of British pubs and bars.”
