The Hatfield Chace in Doncaster is gearing up for summer with a packed programme of events planned, as well as a tasty new menu featuring great quality classic dishes, seasonal favourites and weekly specials, launching on Tuesday 15th May, just ahead of the Royal Wedding.

The pub is hosting a range of exciting activity throughout the month, from The Royal Wedding to the FA Cup Final, the team at the Hatfield Chase will ensure their customers don’t miss a beat in May.  The new menu comes just into time for the Bank Holiday Weekend, where visitors to the pub can not only enjoy the tasty new offering, but also a Bouncy Castle all weekend long and live entertainment from local songstress, Anna Lee, on the evening of Sunday 27th May.

We will also be running a special promotion for half term week, running from Saturday 26 May to Sunday 3 June, when kids can eat for just £1 (for each child meal purchased with one normal priced adult main meal).

In line with current trends and the rise of veganism – the number of full-time vegans has increased fourfold in the UK in the past 10 years* – our new menu has a range of options for our vegan guests to choose from. As well as a new Superfood Salad there’s a Butternut Squash Linguine and an irresistible Blueberry and Prosecco Cake.

Other highlights from the new menu include steamed Rope Grown Mussels coated in either a tomato and garlic, or white wine sauce, Seabass Fillets served on a bed of beetroot, couscous, wheatberry and carrot and Asparagus and Pea Pasta Parcels coated in tomato, cheese and basil butter.

For burger lovers, we have not one, but five different burgers to choose from! Pick either beef, Wagyu, chicken, Moroccan Spiced Lamb or a new crispy-coated Root Vegetable burger and add your own choice of toppings to make it ‘Your Burger, Your Way.

A selection of new drinks also feature on the summer menu, including Bacchus, a fruity and zesty English white wine, from Kent based producer Chapel Down and Greyfriars Cuvée Brut, an English sparkling wine. New reds are Drifting, a smooth and flavourful Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel XYZin, with rich blackberry flavours and black pepper aromas, both from California.

For those who want to sample a selection of wines, wine flights are available; customers can choose from any three wines, that are sold by the glass, and order a 100m glass of each, enabling them to compare, contrast and appreciate the subtle differences between grape varieties that they may otherwise have missed.

On the spirits list, a new addition is Boë Violet, a distinctive Scottish gin infused with violets to create a light delicate flavour and a beautiful colour and aroma. It is joined by Gordon’s Premium Pink, an aromatic, floral gin, infused with raspberries and strawberries. We also have a wide selection of rums and whiskies to meet the increasing demand for dark spirits.

For customers who want to add a little sparkle to their favourite spirit, the new ‘Spritz’ menu offers the perfect solution. Choose from four refreshing Prosecco based longer drinks: Aperol Spritz, Gordon’s Pink Spritz, Pimm’s Spritz or Elderflower Spritz.

Non-drinkers need not feel left out, with a thirst-quenchingly good homemade lemonade available this season, offering the perfect accompaniment to lighter summer dishes.

If a tasty new menu isn’t enough to tempt you through the door, there are plenty more reasons to pop in and pay us a visit! Join us on Mondays for 50% off all pies; Tuesday’s is over 65’s day, with 25% off all food for those who sign up for our Privilege Club card; on Wednesday burgers and a drink are just £10 after 5pm; steaks and classic grills are on offer from £7.99 after 5pm on Thursdays, and on Sundays anyone ordering a roast can top up on Yorkshire puds, roasties and gravy for free.

General Manager, Neil Morley, said: “We’re really excited about the new menu. As always, we take customer feedback on board and adapt our offering accordingly; for example, several of our new dishes were popular on the specials board, so we’ve made them a permanent fixture on the summer menu.

“With the new menu in place in time for the Royal Wedding weekend, a Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May, Father’s Day on Sunday 17th June and a whisky passport promotion running throughout June, plus lots more going on throughout the summer, there’s every reason to pop in and try out our new dishes!”
