Community pub The Fox at the heart of Beighton has undergone a £150,000 refurbishment updating the local hub whilst creating six new jobs, just in time for Easter.

Opening Thursday 29th March it’s a new look from top to bottom, an increase in locally sourced and national hero real ales, on trend craft beers, an extended menu now served from 10am, eight modern HD screens for its huge live sports following, and a new home for live bands.

“Sports are a big part of the community,” said manager Dan Nightingale, “so we’re really passionate about it. We’ve upgraded all the facilities and we’re bringing in sports table service to make sure no goal is ever missed. We’re family friendly and determined to provide Beighton a safe and welcome place to socialise.”

A family fun day on Easter Sunday gives locals a reason to take in the new facilities. Face painting, bouncy castle, and giant jenga the perfect opportunity to enjoy the two beer gardens complete with new pergola.

Traditional pub entertainment offers many reasons to visit from retro board games to bingo, pub quiz, poker, karaoke and live bands every Saturday night. There’s also well-established darts and pool synonymous with hearty Yorkshire pubs.

Open from 10am, there’s a new place for mums to relax over breakfast and coffee, with a full English £3.79 or a lighter scrambled egg on toast just £1.79. There’s the ever popular two meals for £7.99 and the return of steaks as well as build your own sharing planks including scampi, mini chicken wings, and nachos with cheese; the perfect Saturday grazing food offering a pick ‘n’ mix of five dishes for £8.49.

Craft beers Punk IPA and London Meantime lager join an increased bank of four real ales including beers from Sheffield’s Abbeydale, Fuggle Bunny and Bradfield breweries. Fourteen gins have earned a special place with home infused botanicals.

“Local pubs at the heart of communities are much more than somewhere to buy fish and chips and a pint,” added Dan. “It’s about bringing people together and giving people a reason to leave their settee, make the effort to come together and remember the value of being with friends and family.”

Reasons to visit include Monday bingo; Tuesday retro games night; Wednesday poker; Thursday pub quiz; Friday DJ and Karaoke; Saturday -DJ and live bands; and Super Sunday Sports Quiz after the great Sunday roast.
