A new £270,000 bar is hitting Hove. Named ‘The George Street Tap’, there’s no forgetting its location whilst the greatest collection of craft beers in town, fun features and cocktails mark it unforgettable too.

Opening 19th March, transformation of the old Slug and Lettuce has created seven new jobs as well as the on trend bar open from 9am for Hove’s fashionistas, hipsters, music and beer lovers, and friends of sport.

Stripped back to brickwork, tiles, and reclaimed woods it’s industrialised feel is complimented by sophisticated design and catchphrase neons illuminating eighteen craft beers – a range normally reserved for Brighton – with national and local brews like Brewdog, 360 degrees, and Signal from Croydon. New glass sliding doors the width of the building also provides for a unique open plan summer space.

Live sport airing Sky and BT sports across nine plasmas is just one of many reasons to visit. More than beer and design making it the craftiest place around, there’s everything from DJ party music at weekend to board games, themed quizzes, open mic and classic movie nights.

If you’ve ever wondered how cocktails get to taste so good, there’s even crafty cocktail school Wednesday with bartenders showing off their mixology, taking just long enough for customers to indulge in 241 cocktails – though they don’t have to wait until Wednesday, with the 5-8pm 241 offer on every day.

Fifteen gins are just a part of a spirits emporium with premium vodkas, rums and whiskeys and even Tequila is sipped not shot.

Sourdough pizzas, tempting tapas sharers and an enviable line up of desserts make the edgy menu inclusive for the veggie, trendsetter, and crav-able burger lover. The Japanese Wagyu Beef Burger ticks all the foodgasm boxes with oozing molten cheese sauce, wrapped for extra juice and succulence whilst the Sundae Pint of ice-cream, brownie, Churros, flake, marshmallows, caramel and raspberry coulis is just a sample of some amazing treats.

“Hove has got a real treat in store – they’re definitely going to be impressed with everything we have to offer,” said manager Valter Santos. “We’re something different and whether you’re the new breed of pub-breakfast lover or just love a chic night out, we really do have everything to make everyone welcome.”

A showcase event is the perfect launch into Easter on 30th March with fizz, craft and wine, tapas tasters, live DJ playing 70’s and 80’s and an appearance by Brewdog and Brighton gin.
