Wood Green is getting a quality boost to its town centre on 10th March with the revival of the Nag’s Head after a £310,000 renovation, encouraging residents to ‘love your local’.

The refurbished pub, still referred to locally as its yesteryear name the ‘Nags Head’ despite being renamed the Goose almost a decade ago, is a step towards the ambition of making Wood Green one of the best places to eat and drink in London. Though sports here is just as important too with three Sky / BT Sports boxes, six screens, two projectors and Pay Per View events (the 31st March Joshua fight definitely one for the diary)!

Traditional pub values are promised with the very best in sports viewing, party nights, pool tables, on trend beers and gins, and simple pub food designed to attract casual diners to socialise whether it be a break from work, or grabbing a bite to eat with friends and family.

“Wood Green has diversified and so have we,” says manager Alex Harris. “We’ve geared up for daytime, and we’re far more female friendly with the lighter and brighter look, which is important to maximise the town’s huge potential. We’re offering more, and making sure it’s done well.”

Previously listed in the Good Beer Guide as the Nag’s Head, real ale is big again with five hand pulls, London Pride to seasonal rotations, whilst Blue Moon, Brewdog IPA, and Meantime London represent the craft beer revolution. Gin o clock has made gin a focal point with ten botanicals such as Tanqueray, Hendricks and Bombay Sapphire paired with premium mixers. Cocktails are also 241 from 7pm every day.

Food has something for every one too starting with full breakfast £2.79; 2 meals from £9.99 such as Fish & Chips and Beef & Ale Pie all day every day. Burgers from Classic Beef to Three-way Chicken, Grills and Build-your-own Planks for the ultimate socialites couldn’t get more ‘proper pub’.

From pool to poker there’s something on every night to make the pub a social hub for the whole community. Tuesday’s offer opportunity to challenge a friend to Fifa; Wednesday pool night aims to put its players back in national competitions; Thursday karaoke is on the lookout for real talent; Friday and Saturday sees old school DJ until 3am; Sunday is chance to try out your poker face and Sunday lunch.

“I’m encouraging everyone to give the Nag’s Head a visit and get back in love with the local pub. We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved,” added Alex.
