A major £360,000 overhaul of The Rose on Bedford High Street will create Bedford’s most stylish bar yet with an offer normally experienced in London’s West End as well as ten new jobs – all being revealed at a VIP opening party on February 22.

The transformation styled for modern pub goers, with its urban, industrialised design of reclaimed wood, neon lighting, rustic copper, quirky furnishings, and even beach huts (!), will see cutting-edge craft beers, chic cocktails, handcrafted food, and the ultimate in hi-tech sports viewing.

“The Rose will deliver something very different, special and stylish that has really not been seen here in Bedford before,” says General Manager Adriano Iori, adding that the upmarket feel will sit well within the historic building’s setting.

“Throughout the day, The Rose will have it all – perfect for a break from the office for lunch to the experience of our love of music Friday and Saturday nights. Whether you’re an aspirational student, hipster shopper, sports enthusiast or socialite that just likes to hang out, you’ll love our contemporary vibe,” explains Adriano..

Eight craft beers and ciders will include Hop House 13, Punk IPA, Camden Pale Ale, Jet Black Heart, Dead Pony Club, Yakima Red, Lillies Mango Cider and Orchard Thief’s and there are four cask ales such as AJ’s Stuck on Blondes, and Red Dust from Consett Ale. A fifty-strong spirits emporium and extensive cocktail menu of classics, home favourites, Porn Star Martini’s and Mojitos, hint at the diversity and taste The Rose has to offer.

The freshest bar food is an abundance of contemporary dishes ranging from the en mode sourdough pizza with eleven variations (241 Thursdays), to the juiciest Japanese Wagyu beef burgers wrapped in paper, steaming from grill to plate. Paired with tapas, like tender BBQ beef burnt ends and crispy bacon straws, and Sticky Wings (10 for £3 Wednesdays), it’s the ultimate social soiree.

Sky and BT Sports will air on The Rose’s big screens inside and out, with the garden also not missing out on the new facelift, including beach-style huts for relaxing with friends.

Interesting offers throughout the week are the perfect incentive to try out the new elements of the bar:

  • Monday – craft beer night, with a special price of £3 a pint
  • Tuesday – two for one price on delicious burgers
  • Wednesday – sticky Chicken wings, 10 for just £3
  • Thursday – two for one pizza
  • Fizz Friday – Prosecco is priced to bring sparkle to the beginning of the weekend, priced at just £15 a bottle.

“We are all so very excited about The Rose’s transformation,” says Adriano. “It really will be something very different and customers will just love it.”
