The idyllically set, aptly named peninsular Gower Inn has long since been the destination pub for tourists, walkers, and locals and hasreceiveda £200,000 revamp creating an all year round retreat both on the inside, and the anew ‘weather-proof’ outside.
With stunning views by Pennard Castle and Three Cliffs a short valley walk away, the Parkmill village pub is establishing it’s own allure – top notch al fresco dining with stylish seating, undercover awnings and all season heating, with 120 covers, to satisfy its popularity, even with its four-legged friends.
Blending tasteful, chic and authentic, the redesigned inn is the perfect synthesis for an area steeped in natural history with renewed features: homely snug bar, locally sourced Penderyn whiskey and Brecon vodka, and rustic summer picnic hampers.
A VIP opening on the 8thof April showcased the iconic pub’s makeover with a taste of spring food samples and craft beer and cider tasters, whilst accomplished and versatile guitar based local band JoeSchmo will be on hand to boost the atmosphere.
“Running the Gower Inn is such a privilege – the area is so beautiful,” said manager Carly Salisbury who took over the reins in January of this year. “That’s why we’ve decided it’s not enough to just be here, we’re reflecting magnificence in a completely new interior, picture-perfect outside, and exciting offers for both locals and our welcome visitors.”
As well as looking the part, drinks and food is expanding with cask ale including specially brewed local brewery ale Gower Gold and Gower Power, complemented with crafted Brewdog Punk IPA and Meantime London Pale Ale, and on tap ciders Rekorderlig and Lilley’s, whilst niche to eclectic tastes are catered for in the vast spirits range.
A fantastic new menu flush with tastes of spring offers a leisurely start to the day with weekday breakfast from 10am, the ‘Bacon Sarnie’ in Farmhouse bread to ‘Avocado Smash’ on toasted artisan focaccia bread, with poached egg and Hollandaise sauce.
On trend Antipasti with Mediterranean accompaniments and Superfood Salads are destined to win whilst King Prawn & Crab Cottage Loaves an innovative sandwich alternative.
