Leading pub and bar chain, The Slug and Lettuce, has invested £300,000 into the Southend-on-Sea site with the glamorous makeover creating 14 band new jobs for the community.

Known for its Mojitos and Cosmopolitans, the venue based in the Centre of this sea-side town closed on the 25th January and reopened on the 8th February whilst a team of workers come on board to the give the site some tender, love and care.

Customers can now experience a full refurbishment, a new cocktail master class and best of all, the revamped beer garden. With a popular outside terrace, locals will also be able to enjoy Wine Down Wednesday’s or 2-4-1 cocktails whilst basking in the sun. Customers are encouraged to sit back, relax and allow the dedicated team members to wait on them.

Other promotions available to customers will include Fizz Fridays*, £5 Tuesdays to Thursdays** and the popular Happy Mondays***.

General Manager Simon Murray said, “It’s a really exciting time for the site as this full refurbishment is going to make such a positive difference to not only our customers but also the staff. The renovation means that we can provide so much more, such as cocktail master classes with our new cocktail station and a great outdoor space for when warm weather arrives. Our beer garden is the largest in the area and our bar is set to be “the” place to be this summer”.

The bar will open at 11am – 11pm Monday – Thursday, 11am – 2am every Friday to Saturday and 12pm – 10.30pm every Sunday.
