The Alice in Houndsditch will be hosting a VIP party on Thursday 29th May to celebrate a refurbishment and the launch of a new menu. Guests will be treated to food tasters as well as a complimentary drink from 5pm to 7pm.
General manager of the pub, Catherine Button, said: “We will be closing on Saturday 24th May to make way for a refurbishment including new signage as well as a new back bar and additional furniture. However, the most exciting change following this refurbishment is the introduction of our newmenu.”
A total of twenty new dishes will grace the menu including starters such as Sticky Tabasco Chicken Wings; Garlic Mushrooms and Pulled Pork Wedges aswell as a wide variety of main meals including Chicken Milanese, a breaded chicken escalope filled with parma ham and herb cream and a 7oz Pulled PorkBurger with pulled pork, mozzarella and chilli slaw.
In addition, the Alice will be presenting a Summer Lovin’ range, featuring hot and cold platters – perfect for sharing – alongside summer sorbets with a choice of three flavours; mango, blackcurrant or lemon. The pub will also continue making its popular stone bake pizzas.
Catherine added: “The team and I take pride in offering customers an excellent food and drink offer, exceptional service and, of course, great entertainment. Guests can enjoy live music on the last Thursday of every month and a DJ every Friday night from 6pm.
“Following our makeover, we have also benefited from three new TV screens, giving us a total of four, – just in time for the World Cup games.”
The Alice is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 11pm, offers a 2-for-1 cocktail deal daily between 5pm to 8pm and is available for private hire onweekends.
The pub also offers breakfast from 9am to noon daily.
