The Slug and Lettuce in Market Street, Leicester will reopen with a birthday party on 23 May after an investment, which will see the creation of 16 new jobs.

Owned and operated by the Stonegate Pub Company, the site will open from 10am every day offering Costa Coffee and breakfast. Costa Coffee will offer guests their choice of hot drinks throughout the day including Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, hot chocolate as well as a range of Twinings teas.

The site will close at 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 2am Friday and Saturday. Food will be served from 10am to 10pm every day.

The venue will also offer a range of new DJ events on Friday’s and Saturday’s including 80s and 90s themed nights and live music.

A special VIP celebration will be held on Friday, 23 May from 6pm. The venue will then open to the public from 8pm.

The evening will showcase the new-look, which will include four private booths. It will also celebrate the birthday of the venue, which opened on the site seven years ago.

Entertainment on the night will include ‘Birthday Cupcake shots’, a Peroni giveaway and a DJ and saxophone player. The night will also include the popular Diamond giveaway, where a guest will get the chance to win a diamond worth £500.

Speaking about the investment at the Slug and Lettuce, general manager Ian Whiley, said: “We are celebrating the night with the birthday theme. The team is looking forward to having a shiny new Slug and Lettuce and this will be really popular in Leicester.

“We look forward to welcoming you.”

Guests will continue to experience the extensive range of drinks from Slug and Lettuce, including 2-for-1 cocktails all-day every day.
The venue will also offer three new guest craft beers on rotation. This will bring the total number of real ales available on rotation to eight.
An extended wine menu boasts world wines such as New Zealand Vavasour Sauvignon Blanc, USA Chardonnay Terlato, and Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Brut.
The Slug and Lettuce will continue with its great food offer with a menu boasting dishes such as the SandL Burger, a 10oz Ribeye Steak with King Prawn Skewer and Lamb Ribs.

Children can also choose from a range of tasty options from the under 8’s menu. Guests will receive 50% off their food bill on ‘Happy Mondays’, while ‘Tikka Tuesdays’ offers 2 for 1 curries and ‘Wine Down Wednesday’ offers selected wines (except sparkling and champagne) for £11.45.

In addition to the extensive wine offer and cocktails guests can also look forward to a range of world beers and free Wi-Fi.
