The Slug and Lettuce in St Nicholas Street, Bristol closes on 6 May and will reopen on 23 May after an investment of £300,000, which will see the creation of 15 new jobs.
The investment will also see the introduction of Costa Coffee, which will mean guests can pop in for their morning coffee and breakfast from 10am Monday to Sunday. Costa Coffee will offer guests their choice of hot drinks throughout the day including Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, hot chocolate as well as a range of Twinings teas.
The venue will open until 11pm Monday to Thursday, until 1am on Friday and Saturday and until 10.30pm on Sundays.
The venue is having a complete overhaul with the new look Slug and Lettuce including new décor, furniture, back bar and an extended garden area, which will be available all year round.
Owned and operated by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, the Slug and Lettuce, will host a special VIP event to showcase the new-look on Friday, 23 May from 5pm.
Guests will be able to enjoy their five minutes of fame walking down the purple carpet with the paparazzi. The first 100 people entering the venue will receive a free goodie bag, canapés and a Passion Fruit Bellini. The entertainment will include the popular Diamond giveaway, where a guest will get the chance to win a diamond worth £500.
In the newly renovated garden guests can enjoy a Havana cocktail masterclass and a BBQ while dancing to the Havana Club Band.
The party atmosphere will continue into Saturday with more entertainment including a magician and drummer and a selection of Guest DJ’s playing throughout the evening.
Speaking about the investment at the Slug and Lettuce, general manager Jason Cole, said: “We are massively investing in our garden area which will give us 60 new dining seats. The staff are very excited about the new look as are the regular customers.
“We sit in the hub of a business area surrounded by head offices and this investment will keep us ahead of the competition.”
The Slug and Lettuce will continue with its great food and drink offer with a food menu boasting dishes such as the SandL Burger, a 10oz Ribeye Steak with King Prawn Skewer and Lamb Ribs. The site will offer breakfasts together with a range of lunch and dinner options which now include the ‘under 500-calorie’ menu, the popular platter range and mix of steak, fish, vegetarian and seasonal options.
Children can also choose from a range of tasty options from the under 8’s menu. Guests can also receive 50% off their food bill on ‘Happy Mondays’, while ‘Tikka Tuesdays’ offers 2 for 1 curries and ‘Wine Down Wednesday’ offers selected wines (except sparkling and champagne) for £11.45.
In addition to the extensive wine offer and cocktails guests can also look forward to a range of world beers and free Wi-Fi.
