The Stonegate Pub Company, which owns and operates eight licensed premises in York and employs over 244 people in the city, will be investing over £240,000 in a new bar and restaurant on Bridge Street called Missoula – Montana Bar and Grill. This follows £570,000 already invested in the city through the company’s ongoing refurbishment programme.
The investment, which will see the creation of thirty new jobs, will be under the operation of a new manager, Chris Smith, who brings with him several years of experience within the hospitality sector. Missoula – Montana Bar and Grill will celebrate its opening with a VIP party on Thursday 13th February and will open to the public from 8am on Friday 14th February.
Missoula – Montana Bar and Grill will offer a quality food and drink experience including craft ales, whiskies, wines and USDA steaks. Inspired by the bountiful state of Montana, the décor will reflect the passion and the pride of the city, whilst the food will combine genuine American dishes with a plentiful array of cocktails, beers and brands.
Authenticity is always at the forefront of the offer at Missoula – Montana Bar and Grill and to ensure a real American welcome and a slice of their great hospitality, Molly Smith who is Montana born and bred, will be heading up the intensive customer training service programme which is already underway.

A warm and welcoming meet-and-greet service will set the scene for a truly entertaining experience. Take breakfast ¬ out with traditional bacon and eggs, in with stacked American waffles and Scramblers, available until midday. Throughout the day customers will be able to choose from a extensive menu that includes delights such as Bison Burger, ‘a Montana folks’ favourite’.
Seven world beers including Shipyard American pale ale and Anchor Steam; 14 classic cocktails, 11 signature cocktails bursting with new flavours such as the Huckleberry Lemon Drop and Ponderosa Pine are just some of the drinks that will grace the menu – all of which are served with a dash of passion and flair.
