Five new jobs are to be created at the Queens Head in Frodsham when it opens later this week following a £200,000 refurbishment.
The pub, which is owned and operated by award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, re-opens on Saturday 26th October. The Queens Head will be contemporary and stylish yet have all the traditional pub values that customers look for – great food, an excellent choice of wines and cask beers and a welcoming ambiance.
Manager Mike Thompson and his team will be inviting local businesses and regular customers to join them for a champagne reception and to have a sneaky peak at the new look Queens Head from 5.30pm on Saturday 26th October. Doors swing open for the official launch from 8pm with live music from local band ‘Two Way Traffic’.
A brand new menu will be introduced when it re-launches. Light, healthier options, under 500 calories will be available alongside pub favourites such as Cumberland Sausage and Spring Onion Mash served with a red wine gravy and a sticky red onion marmalade. Healthier yet mouth-watering dishes include grilled asparagus and king prawn salad, with poached egg; 8oz rump steak and superfood salad and an aubergine bake filled with orzo pasta, tomato, garlic, basil and pulses, coated with a cheese sauce and served with a superfood salad.
In addition to the interior changes, the pub’s garden will enjoy a makeover to include an outside pizza oven, operational from summer 2014.
The pub, which will continue to source its meat from local butchers, will also be offering an extended Sunday lunch menu of a choice of three freshly cooked joints each Sunday. Opening daily from 10.30am it will serve customers brunch as well as Lavazza coffee and cakes throughout the day.
Alongside an extensive choice of wines the Queens Head real ale enthusiasts will be able to choose from a regularly rotating selection of six cask ales sourced from national and regional brewers as well as local micro-brewers.
Commenting on the refurbishment, Mike Thompson said, “We are really excited about the refurbishment. The pub always had masses of potential but now with a fresh new look it can enjoy a new chapter in its life. I believe our customers will love the changes and we look forward to welcome new faces to the Queens Head too.”
