A £270,000 transformation is currently taking place at Yates’s on Robertson Street in Hastings and, as a result, ten new jobs have been created at the site.
Owned and operated by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, work began on the site on Monday 9th September and the Mayor of Hastings, Councillor Alan Roberts will officially reopen the pub on Thursday 26th September at a special VIP eventstarting at 5pm. Yates’s will open its doors to the public at 10pm with a special DJ set by Michael Andre which sees the start of a whole host of activity over the weekend with something to cater for everyone’s needs.
On Friday 27th September, the team at Yates’s will welcome Gary Lucy, who has appeared in a number of popular soaps over the years including Hollyoaks, Footballers’ Wives and The Bill. On Saturday 26th September, the team have organised activities designed to excite and entertain the whole family. During the day children’s entertainment including face painting and clowns has been arranged and in the evening stilt walkers and fire eaters will create an electric atmosphere.
Changes to the impressivebuilding, which was once visited by Charles Dickens who recited a poem inside the venue, include a new state-of-the art sound and lighting system, the installation of a large video wall and improved and enhanced sports viewing. New VIP booths are also being introduced as part of the investment and are perfect for large parties who want to pre-book, giving an exclusive feel to a nightout.
Open for breakfast at 8ameveryday, Yates’s will be offering Lavazza, one of Italy’s most popular coffee brands, which forms just some of the food and drink offers available at the site including two meals for £7.95 and two-for-one on all desserts.
Tommy Roberts, general manager at Yates’s in Hastings said: “There are a number of several wow factors that are being introduced as a result of the investment and we can’t wait to showcase the new-look Yates’s. We are confident that the refurbishment will attract customers from further afield, contributing positively to Hastings’ local economy. The new-look will be more reflective of other Yates’s bars across the country, which are very popular with their customers. We’re hoping that the investment will mean that Yates’s will appeal to a wider audience across a range of occasions.”
