Five new jobs have been created at the Greyhound in Ash with more anticipated over the coming weeks as the pub re-opens following a £125,000 refurbishment. The destination pub on Ash Street is currently temporarily closed for a 10 day makeover and is set to re-open on Friday 20th September.

Whilst the team of builders and designers freshen up the pub and its garden, general manager Stephen Everett and the staff at the Greyhound are busy maximising their time by boosting customer service skills and product knowledge.

The pub will celebrate its refurbishment on Friday 20th September with a champagne and canapé reception between 6pm and 8pm for local businesses and regular customers. Doors open to all from 8pm with customers treated to an evening of live jazz from the talented Anna Nightingale.

The pub, which is owned and operated by Stonegate Pub Company as part of its estate of Classic Inns, is known for its warm family friendly ambiance. With an extensive food and drinks menu and special children’s menu it is the perfect venue for dining with friends and family. Customers can choose to dine in the dedicated restaurant area where table service is offered or more informally in the bar, enjoying a range of traditional pub dishes or international inspired choices. The pub re-opens with an array of great customer deals including two meals for £10.25 on selected dishes, two for the price of one cocktails every Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 5pm and 8pm and a special Tuesday evening offer of £10.45 per bottle from the majority of the wine list.

In addition, The Greyhound will be serving a choice of cask ales including ‘Tea’ from Hogsback brewery in Tongham. The pub will be introducing a special collector’s card for cask ale enthusiasts so that for every sixth pint purchased, the seventh will be free. The pub’s hugely popular Spice and quiz night continues, moving to Wednesday evenings.

“The team and I look forward to welcoming customers new and old to the Greyhound after our refurbishment. Our friendly atmosphere and reputation for delicious food speaks for itself but now with an updated new look it will be even more enticing”, added Stephen.
