Slug and Lettuce is coming to Croydon and will open on Friday 30th August on the former site of Bar 10 on Park Lane. The bar, which is owned and operated by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, will undergo an investment of over £85,000 and, as a result of the refurbishment, three new jobs will be created at the bar.
Speaking about the transformation from Bar 10 to Slug and Lettuce, general manager, Sarah McKeown said: “We’re delighted to be opening a Slug and Lettuce in Croydon. The investment will reflect the Slug and Lettuce brand as well as focussing on the interior of the bar, making it look more up to date and modern. We’ll also be enhancing the bar area due to the success of our cocktail offer ensuring that the design of the bar will make it easier and quicker for us to serve customers as the demand for cocktails grows.
“Along with the new-look and new name, we’ll also be offering a fresh new cocktail menu and every other Friday, starting on our opening night, Friday 30th August, we’ll be playing host to L.A Boxers, the Croydon based house collective as part of a regular music night.
“The Hollywood cocktail menu, which showcases nine new cocktails, offers drinks including the Harvey Wallbanger; the Pina Colada and the Pink Lady Fizz – rumoured to be Marilyn Monroe’s favourite drink. The drinks really are delicious and we’re offering two cocktails for the price of one every Thursday, Friday and Saturday so it’s a great opportunity to come to Bar 10 to sample them.
“We’ve got some great events planned for Slug and Lettuce including a zoo-themed party on Saturday 7th September where we have organised for a body painter to be at the bar to transform customers to members of the wild kingdom – the Slug and Lettuce team will be transformed too. We’re asking customers to get dressed up in any animal-themed onesies that might have and let their animal out! We’ll also be organising stilt walkers and fire breathers to make it a night to remember.”
