Slug and Lettuce in Farnham, the award winning bar operated by Stonegate Pub Company is to create four new jobs following a £205,000 refurbishment of the venue.

The bar on East Street, which is set to re-open on Saturday 13th July, will welcome customers during a spectacular re-launch party, the highlight of which will be a £500 diamond giveaway for one lucky customer.

The pub has temporarily closed for its thirteen day makeover. As part of the refurbishment, new booth seating, ideal for small parties or groups dining, has been installed and can be reserved.

General Manager Maria Johns and her team have planned a red-carpet welcome for customers, complete with firebreathers and the special raffle diamond giveaway. Local businesses, residents and regular customers have been invited from 7.00pm for a complimentary cava and canapé reception ahead of the main celebration which kicks off at 8pm. Customers will be invited on arrival to fill in their name and address for the prize draw to be announced later in the evening.

The following day, Sunday 14th July, the bar is to continue its celebrations with a family fun day from 11-4pm. A children’s entertainer, face painting and Slug and Lettuce’s friendly giant mascot will keep the kids entertained whilst parents will be happy to note the Sunday ‘Kids Eat for £1’ promotion will run all day.

From 4pm, hugely popular covers band ‘James and Fred Live Jukebox’ will return to perform, taking requests.

Commenting on the refurbishment, general manager Maria Johns said, “There’s a lot of anticipation amongst our regular customers about the refurbishment. I know they won’t be disappointed as the designers’ plans look stunning. But it won’t be just the bar itself that will under-going a change. We’re extending some of our most popular promotions such as 241 cocktails – now available from 4pm until close every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The weathermen are promising a scorching summer and so with our fantastic ‘Summer at Slug’ cocktail and flavoured ciders and beer range, Slug and Lettuce Farnham will be the place to be.”
