The Slug and Lettuce on Water Lane in Wilmslow is hosting an event in order to raise money for Breast Cancer Care on Saturday 8th June starting from 7.30pm. Tickets to the event cost just £15 and can be purchased at the Slug and Lettuce.
The Pink Party 2, which has been organised by local residents Kim Forbes and Pete and Gaynor Hughes, follows on from their previous fundraising efforts last year where the dedicated trio raised over £4500 for the charity.
Georgina Yates’s, general manager at Slug and Lettuce said: “We’re delighted to be able to help Kim, Pete and Gaynor in their fundraising efforts and hope that we can make a positive contribution towards their fundraising goal. It would be great if we could raise even more money than we did last year.
“The event starts at 7.30pm with a Cava reception and guests will be treated to a buffet. The evening will be hosted by Peter Pinnington and we’ll be entertained throughout the night by Paula Delaney performing as Amy Housewine and our resident DJ. We’ve also planned an auction and raffle with some fantastic lots and prizes up for grabs. We’re still on the look out from support from local businesses and companies in terms of prizes in order to boost the fund, so if there are companies that would like to lend their support, please do get in touch.
“So many peoples lives are affected by cancer and Breast Cancer Care provides information, along with practical and emotional support, for approximately 50,000 people who are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year. Its an extremely worthy cause and one we are happy to support. We’re hoping that the community will show their generosity for the charity and if they can’t make it down on the 8th June, we encourage them to come into the Slug and Lettuce and drop in a few pounds into the collection vessels that will be placed on the bar at various points.”
