Michael Andre, one of the most sought after music DJs in the UK at the moment is to head to Isle of Wight next month to perform during the 10th birthday celebrations of Newport pub, Yates’s.

High Street pub, Yates’s, which was transformed into a state of the art venue with a £190,000 refurbishment last September, is planning five days of celebrations to mark the milestone birthday, from Wednesday 6th until Sunday 10th March.

Kicking off the celebrations Ronan McCann, general manager of Yates’s will be hosting a UV party on Wednesday 6th March from 9.00pm. The night which will be led by the pub’s resident DJ, will run until 2am and will include free face painting, to create an even more spectacular backdrop on the UV-lit dancefloor. Throughout the night and during the week’s celebrations the pub will be collecting donations for its chosen charity, Young Minds.

The following evening, Thursday 7th March will see the return, by popular demand, of ‘Ultimate Karaoke’. Customers can roll back the years and reminisce. In return for a small donation to Young Minds, they can take to the microphone to perform the song of their choice.

The weekend will begin in earnest on Friday 8th March with a ‘Decade of Yates’s’ night when all the greatest floor fillers from 2003 to 2013 will dominate the sound system, finishing at 2am.

Saturday 9th March, ‘The Big Birthday’ night will kick off to a flying start, courtesy of complimentary glasses of bubbly from 8pm for the first 100 customers through the door. Following the huge success of his performance at the pub in September, DJ of the moment Michael Andre, brother to Peter, will take to the decks for his set from 11pm. Customers can secure free ‘queue jump’ tickets for the Saturday night event, on Wednesday 6th March.

The weekend concludes with a special Mothers’ Day on Sunday 10th March. All mothers with table reservations during the day will be treated to a complimentary glass of wine with their meal. Later in the evening a special ‘Decade of Yates’s’ quiz will take place from 9pm with first prize of a £50 bar tab up for grabs.

“We couldn’t let ten years of being Newport’s favourite pub pass without some celebrations to mark the birthday so we have pulled together a programme of events to appeal to our varied and loyal customers from the hippest partygoers to the many families who join us weekly for our legendary Sunday roast”, said Ronan McCann. “I’d like to thank all our customers for their support over the decade. Being top of our game and delivering the very best customer service, quality value for money food and drinks as well as a guaranteed great night out, is what we love to do and may we continue to do so for many more years to come”, he added.

Yates’s will be running a competition over the coming weeks for one lucky customer to win a VIP booth during the Saturday night celebrations. The prize comes complete with transport to the venue in the form of a limousine as well as champagne during the evening. For more details visit www.weareyates.co.uk/iselofwight
