The Slug and Lettuce on Tonbridge’s High Street will be hosting a charity quiz night and raffle on Thursday 31st January to help raise money for the Hospice in the Weald.
Starting at 7.30pm, the event has been organised by Lucinda Davies, Deputy Manager at the Slug and Lettuce who hopes to raise at least £250 for the Hospice’s funds. Entry into the quiz costs just £2 per person and a raffle ticket costs a £1. All proceeds raised on the night will be donated to the Hospice.
Speaking about the event, Lucinda said: “We wanted to host and organise an event that would benefit a local charity or organisation. When the team and I got together to talk about the event and who we’d like to support, everyone agreed on the Hospice in the Weald. Many of us either know of the Hospice or know someone who has called on them and so the decision was made. It’s the first time that we’ve raised funds for the Hospice so we hope that we can present them with a significant amount of money and support them in the future.
“We’d like to encourage our regulars and all those people who have called on the Hospice to come down to the Slug and Lettuce on Thursday 31st January and take part in the quiz. We’d also like to call on anyone who enjoys a pub quiz to also get involved. We’ll be selling raffle tickets and, thanks to the generosity of many local businesses, we’ve got some fantastic prizes including a voucher for four people to have a round of golf at the Addington Golf Club, a Body Shop hamper of goodies worth £100 and vouchers for both Design a Head and Aquavie Spa.”
In addition to the fundraising event for Hospice in the Weald, the Slug and Lettuce will also begin fundraising throughout February for Help for Heroes. A host of activity will be planned to help raise funds for the armed forces charity including a charity quiz night and a military fancy dress party.
