Leeds pub, the Hyde Park on Headingley Lane has closed this week for a makeover, re-opening in time for Easter.
The pub, owned by Stonegate Pub Company will swing open its doors on Thursday 29 March following a 11-day £100,000 refurbishment that will see the pub spruced up with new carpets, polished wooden flooring, re-upholstered furniture, new toilets and fresh décor throughout.
The Hyde Park will host a re-launch party to unveil its new image. Regulars and special guests are invited to pop along on Thursday 29 March for complimentary lunch to take a sneaky peak from 12-3pm before doors open to the public from 5pm. The celebratory atmosphere will continue throughout the evening with a red carpet reception for customers. The pub will host a second celebration on Friday 20 April for students on their return from the Easter holidays.
Manager Richard Seaman is expecting to see some surprised regulars when they step foot back inside the pub,
“People who know the Hyde Park of old will see a major difference in the pub. With new décor signage and soft furnishings in deep, rich warm colours the whole place will feel very inviting.”
“To accompany the new look, we’re focussing on delivering great food offers including 2 main meals for just £6.95 and a daily special for just £2.99 making it a great value lunchtime stop. The pub has always been at the heart of student community life, but now it can do so in considerably more style!”, he continued.
“Whilst the pub is closed for its makeover we will spend the time wisely, re-training the whole team and focussing on our offer so that both the food and service are tip-top.
Our customers favourite nights are staying including Quids In, now on Wednesdays, Curry Night on Thursdays and our dj-led party nights on Friday and Saturdays. But we’re also introducing a few new ones such as Monday Ale Club when a pint of real ale will be £1.95, and our very own Battle of the Bands on Sunday evenings throughout April and May.”
In addition to a new traditional menu, the manager Richard has been busy engaging with local brewers so that the pub can offer six hand pulled cask ales. Real ale enthusiasts will like the new loyalty scheme too, as, for every 7th pint purchased the 8th will be free. CAMRA members will also receive a 10% discount on real ale.
The Hyde Park has always had a reputation for being one of the best places to watch sport in Leeds, and now with the new comfortable surroundings, plasmas screens showing sky sports and traditional pub menu the pub just got even better. Wifi will also be available making the pub an ideal morning or lunchtime meeting point for business workers, mums and students alike.
A full weekly package of entertainment including live bands, and dj led nights mean the pub will remain one of the best weekend party destinations by dusk.
