Speaking about the launch of the Spring Summer menus, Perry Huntley, Head of Food at the Stonegate Pub Company said: “As the days start to get longer, our customers’ thoughts turn to lighter, fresher meals so across the four business segments we’ve introduced dishes that will reflect the change of seasons, specific to that segment. In addition to introducing new dishes, we’ve also concentrated on ensuring that our popular items are the very best they can be by working with our suppliers to source quality products time after time.
“Across the Classic Inn segment we’ve really enhanced our grills section, particularly in those pubs that are situated in residential areas. There’s a real demand for dishes that can be ordered for special occasions or family get-togethers without breaking the bank. The trend for sharing also continues to grow so we’ve introduced a mouth-watering sausage platter that offers our customers a selection of sausages from our award winning butcher including the Absolut™ Bloody Mary, Beef and Ale, Pork and Juniper and caramelised red onion that can be shared with friends over a pint of beer. We’ve also introduced some new fish dishes such pan fried Sea Bass with lemon butter which is cooked simply yet bring out all of the natural flavours of the fish.
“For the pubs that sit in the Yates’s segment we’ve enhanced our fantastic burger offer which is fast becoming our best selling items on the menu with the introduction of a new Bombay Burger amongst others. The burger is bursting with tasty great flavours and uses our classic burger topped with spicy curry sauce.
“We’ve also introduced a number of dishes that will see our customers through the day, including our new porridge with fruits of the forest compote, our new 8inch subs with a range of fillings which are included in our lunchtime deal where you can get lunch and a drink for just £4.95 and our Super Food Salad which is great for those looking for something a little lighter and fresher in taste. You can choose from feta cheese, steak or chicken which is served on a bed of mixed leaves, spinach, broccoli, butternut squash and pomegranate with a lime and chilli dressing.
“One of the key choices on the Great Traditional estate menu is our pie offer which offers five pies including the Boozy Beef Pie which was created by one of our chefs, Keiron Wright at the Percy Lambert in Weybridge. And to round off our great range of new dishes, summer desserts added include the Lemon Meringue Cheesecake and the Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream Cake.”
