Steve Ross, manager of Feathers, Great Yarmouth has been continuing to support his local community throughout this lockdown. Steve has been supporting his local community by keeping in touch with his regulars with phone calls as well as offering his services as a dogwalker, while his partner has been baking cakes for those that are vulnerable and shielding.
 
As an incredibly community focused pub who are always there to lend a hand to a local and get involved, the Feathers has been sorely missed by their Great Yarmouth customers not least for their famous weekly Wednesday karaoke nights that drew in over 50 locals. Steve and his partner have been focused on keeping the community spirit alive since the first lockdown, only being able to reopen briefly between July and the start of November and then again in December.
 
Steve said, “It’s been tough in this time to go into another lockdown and it has really affected the community, that’s why we’re trying to keep in touch with our locals and keep spirits up.
 
“I see people when I’m out and about and they tell me how much they miss the pub so we hope we can get back open as soon as possible. We are a tight knit community so reaching out over the phone is the least we can do for people. I just hope people have realised how important pubs are to their local areas as places of help and support as well as social spaces.”
