The Pack Horse, in Pack Horse Yard in Leeds, reopened its doors to the local community last week after an investment of nearly £100,000, under the experienced reigns of Operator, Charlie Mallinson-Brown.

The award-winning Craft Union Pub Company has refurbished and rejuvenated the Pack Horse as part of its ongoing commitment to putting quality pubs back in the heart of communities.

Charlie is dedicated to ensuring that the pub thrives within its community – while enhancing its offer with an affordable and varied drinks range, all the best sporting action, pub quizzes, and live music – once restrictions allow.

The refurbishment has seen a complete refresh of the Pack Horse’s interior and exterior, in line with its original features, with the design intended to create the feeling of a home away from home. It has been decorated to the highest standard to ensure a welcoming atmosphere that its customers will enjoy.

The pub has reopened with clear social distancing measures and enhanced cleaning regimes in place and Charlie is focused on the safety of both her staff and customers.

Charlie said: “I am delighted to be back behind the bar at the Pack Horse. It is a brilliant pub at the heart of Briggate, and we’re dedicated to doing all we can to give back to the local community. My focus has always been our customers and the community we live and breathe, so to work with a company like Craft Union with its values so deeply ingrained in serving the communities it operates in, is just fantastic.”

“Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our team and customers, whilst ensuring everyone is able to enjoy and make the most out of their long-awaited visit to our pub.”

The pub has ensured it complies with the new COVID-19 Secure Workplace Guidance for Pubs and Restaurants, introducing measures to protect staff and customers and ensuring the smooth running of operations.

Understanding the importance of clarity for customers, The Pack Horse has installed external signage clearly setting out the safety measures in place. Customers will be greeted with a warm welcome from both managers and teams, and robust COVID-secure measures, including clear social distancing measures, enhanced cleaning regimes and adhering to NHS Test and Trace guidelines; full table service with contactless payments available, customers can also order food and drinks via an app, will be in operation.
