Stonegate Group has launched its new Multi-Unit Leadership Diploma this month, in association with HIT Training. The programme consists of a Level 5 Management and Leadership Syllabus, with an additional Level 7 Award and will be delivered by industry experts, with guest tutors from the Stonegate Board and Dr Chris Edger, expert industry educator.

The new course replaces its highly successful predecessor, which saw numerous internal promotions to the Leadership Team, and will recruit three cohorts annually, totalling 36 delegates from across all three of the Stonegate Group Operating Divisions. As with all of Stonegate’s training programmes, the Multi-Unit Leadership Diploma forms part of the company’s ‘Bar to Boardroom’ ethos and is designed to train the next generation of leaders from within.

The Multi-Unit Leadership Diploma is aimed at those currently in area manager positions looking to take the next step in their careers, as well as for those in Head Office positions wanting to take on leadership roles. The programme takes up to 18-months to complete and includes modules across all facets of the Stonegate business, including HR, Finance, and Strategy and Business Development.

The course was opened by Simon Longbottom, CEO of Stonegate Group, who led the introduction to delegates, as he covered his hopes and aspirations for the programme.

Lee Woolley, Director of Learning & Organisational Development, said: “As a company we continue to build on our training programmes year on year, ensuring everyone within the business has access to training that will allow them to further their careers, as well as their personal and professional growth. This is not only part of our own ‘Bar to Boardroom’ philosophy, but a part of what we believe is our duty to the industry as a whole.

“For its continued growth and success, the industry needs to change its perception as a sector of ‘stop-gap’ jobs. And by showing people the side of hospitality that includes rewarding, exhilarating careers, in which whoever you are, or whatever your previous qualifications, you can succeed with the right attitude and drive, we can begin to make those changes.

“Our industry has taken a huge knock over the last year, with extensive closures due to government restrictions shaking people’s confidence. However, at Stonegate, we are determined that with continued investment in our people we can show that a career in hospitality is not only stable but one in which you can thrive.”
