The Lord Nelson, Jarrow has reopened this week, after a significant investment and transformation. The Lord Nelson is the perfect community pub to catch up with friends and family, watch sports and enjoy live music.

In the heart of Monkton Village, in Hebburn, The Lord Nelson has kept its warm and welcoming character but has had an upgrade. Five television screens have been installed, together with a state-of-the-art sound system, with sports packages including Sky Sports and BT Sports. Together, with brand-new menus, the Lord Nelson is the perfect alternative place to watch the sporting action away from the stadium.

The pub reopens with new food offers, including a mouth-watering burger and drink deal for £7.99 and a sub sandwich, chips, and a soft drink for £5.99. Every Sunday, the pub has Roasts with all the trimmings available all day, with a choice of turkey, loin of pork, beef, a triple roast of all three types of meat or a vegetarian option. The pub also offers fantastic mini-roasts for kids to enjoy – the perfect size for little foodies.

The extensive drinks list includes a range of popular beers, including favourites of Moretti and fresh additions such as Stella and craft ale Brewdog Plant Pale. The wine list includes a range of over 18 different wines, including Klenine Zalze, Sauvignon Blanc and Portillo, Malbec. The pub also has an amazing range of classic cocktails including two-for-one deals on glasses and pitches.

Abbie Dixon, General Manager of The Lord Nelson, said: “I am so excited about this renovation, making The Lord Nelson better than ever. Our new audio-visual technology is going to make our pub one of the best in the area to watch sports from. Together with our delicious new food and drink menus means there is something for everyone, no matter what the occasion.”

The Lord Nelson also has a brilliant line up of live music events scheduled, including Live Music every Saturday night from 8pm, including performances from Floor Fillers, Kansas City Shuffle, Mugshot, and Celtic Man. The Lord Nelson is also bringing back BandFest, over the August Bank Holiday weekend, with a range of bands playing from 2pm each day.  The Monkton Leek Festival will also be back this year on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 September – a staple in the Jarrow social calendar since 1863.

Abbie continued, “It is a new chapter for our pub. We have fantastic live entertainment coming up with amazing local acts. I am sure our pub is going to go from strength to strength and I cannot wait to welcome guests, old and new, through our doors once more.”
