Locals and tourists can enjoy a great, traditional warm welcome at Kirkby Lonsdale’s iconic Snooty Fox as it reopens this week [Wednesday 1 June] after a short break and investment.
The historic coaching inn has been closed for a spring refresh and is now ready to serve customers again, just as it has for hundreds of years.
New for 2022 are earlier opening for breakfast and morning coffee as well as tasty food and drink menus, with a great range of classic pub dishes and modern-day favourites, to enjoy throughout the day and night. And it’s game on at the pub which will show live TV sports and host a programme of in-house entertainment, including quizzes and music.
The beautiful 17th century, Grade II listed pub and hotel has a prime spot on Main Street next to the market and is an excellent place to stop off for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, after-work drinks, dinner and Sunday Roasts. It is a friendly neighbourhood pub with something for all the community to enjoy from big screen sports to quiz nights, live music and entertainment or a game of darts. The latest food menus are complemented by new and traditional drinks including barista-style coffees, delicious cocktails, local beers, artisan spirits and a good range of low and no alcohol drinks.
The cobbled courtyard at the rear of the main building is sure to be popular and is a wonderful place for refreshments at this time of year. It’s had some 2022 comforts added with improved seating to make people’s stay all the more enjoyable. As well as the new-look outside area, there is a classic bar and restaurant, a TV sports zone and eight letting rooms.
The re-styled Snooty Fox has created 25 new jobs and General Manager, Ben Edwards is thrilled to be meeting the locals and catching up with residents, businesses and tourists. He said: “This is such a stunning pub. It’s so eye-catching and the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale and it is just so lovely to be here. We are open earlier for morning coffee and breakfasts, so stop off on the way to work of mid shopping to try our new menus.”
He added: “It’s been good to take some time to give the old fox the little bit of care it needed and we’re so pleased we didn’t have to close for long. This historic pub has bags of character and can offer the excellent style and service that you’d expect in this day and age. I think people will really enjoy sitting out in our wonderful courtyard now and relax with a refreshing pint, glass of wine, cocktail or a coffee.
