Doors are open again at the Horse & Groom pub much to the delight of Wibsey locals.
The popular Horse & Groom in Wibsey, Bradford has reopened following a £167,000 refurbishment bringing the community all the best of a great British local and unbeatable pub sports.
The much-loved pub on Beacon Road, close to Wibsey Park, is a classic community local and everyone is enjoying the latest new look and feel of the pub.
It now shows BT Sport and Sky Sports plus there is a pool table and dartboards making it a great sports pub for all – players and spectators alike.
There is a new face at the bar to welcome Wibsey regulars. Debi Williamson, who has run pubs and bars in Bradford and beyond for many years, said: “This is an exciting time for me and for the Horse & Groom. It’s great to be open and getting to know the locals. The future is really bright for this pub, it has a warm and welcoming feel to it. It is a real gem in the community and here for everyone.”
The pub is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards. It invested £167,000 in the Horse & Groom during its recent refurbishment so the Bradford community can enjoy this friendly neighbourhood pub for years to come.
The pub is set back from the road and there is a good-sized car park for guests. There is the sports area to the left of the entrance and comfortable seating to the right. Alongside the TV sports viewing, darts players will enjoy the two new darts surrounds and throw and improved lighting around the pool table. Outside, the terraced seating area has been covered so it can be used all-year round, regardless of the weather. All are welcome and the pub is dog-friendly too.
Debi added: “We are a traditional community pub and thanks to these latest works we can serve the community even better. We have kept all the character of the pub which people love and added some extra comforts which people deserve in this day and age. Everyone will be able to watch matches as there is great sports viewing with HD TV screens and the latest audio. The seating has been refurbished and is more comfortable so everyone can really settle in and enjoy their time here. There has been a facelift throughout the pub and it looks great. Come in and see! Sit back and enjoy a drink and a catch up with friends, family and neighbours. We are here for the community, serving good quality, good value drinks with great service.”
The drinks menu has been extended with a wide choice of local, national and internationally renowned beers, wines, ciders and spirits, a choice of cocktails, plus soft drinks and low and no alcohol drinks. Customers don’t even have to leave their seat to order their favourite tipples as they can place their order via the Craft Union app and their drinks will be brought to them.
