Newlands Park pub in Scarborough has re-opened following a £183,000 investment into the popular North East venue.
The refurbishment has seen the Yorkshire seaside pub receive a complete transformation, with the venue’s new look interior seeing its seating areas refurbished giving a new lease of life to the pub with a new brighter and more open planned look.
New lighting, flooring and carpets have also been fitted to give the traditional pub a fresh new look, and externally the previous entrance porch has been completely replaced to give a more welcoming feel to the venue. The outdoor seating area has also been given a spruce up which will make it as popular as ever, as guests enjoy the summer sun.
In the near future, the outdoor area will be extended, with it’s covered area set to include heaters and festoon lighting, the area will also continue to house a large TV so guests won’t miss any of the sporting action.
In order to make the pub more accessible, the steps have been removed, allowing wheelchair users to gain access to the pub, along with a new accessible toilet being fitted within the venue.
With 6 large TVs throughout all areas of the pub showing BT Sport and Sky Sports, there’s no better place in town to catch all of the best sporting action live with your friends and family, as Newlands Park enjoys the start of the new football season. Also entertaining guests will be the venue’s freshly updated darts area, with an illuminated dartboard creating the perfect opportunity for a little competition between friends. This is alongside the pool table area which remains a focal point of the sporting activities on offer.
Located in a residential area north of the town centre, the large two-roomed community local has both a main bar and a separate games room (which can be utilised for functions).
Newlands Park is a dog friendly pub and open everyday from 12pm making it the perfect venue to pop in and have a refreshing drink this summer. The bar stocks quality beers, wines and spirits with well-known local, national and international names. The drinks menu also features a good choice of interesting low and no-alcohol drinks too.
As well as a great range of beverages, the pub will also be hosting a range of entertainment nights for guests to enjoy, including a weekly Thursday night Bingo Quiz, Wednesday Race Day’s which allows visitors the chance to win drinks, and monthly Saturday night live music with Soul and Folk nights planned over the coming months.
The pub is operated by Joanne, who was born in Scarborough and has been at the forefront of the running of the popular Yorkshire pub for over 16 years.
