The Swan, Lyndhurst recently welcomed local MP for the New Forest East, Dr Julian Lewis to meet with the new General Manager and pub team.

The pub has had a short closure for an investment in the infrastructure of the building, but the doors are open again and the team are back serving the Lyndhurst community. The reopening also welcomes familiar and some new faces behind the bar, including new General Manager, Martin Nile. Martin has worked in the hospitality industry for 18 years and is now fulfilling his and his wife’s dream of running a country pub together. Martin enjoys giving great customer service to all his customers and providing them with memorable experiences and follows the rule of arriving as a customer and leaving as a friend.

Dr Julian Lewis’ visit to The Swan allowed Martin to show him around the pub and talk to him about his new role, future plans for the pub and the involvement they have within the community.

Dr Julian Lewis, MP for New Forest East, said: “It was a pleasure to be able to visit The Swan and meet with Martin and the rest of the team at the pub. The offering to the local community is great, creating a space for all to come and enjoy delicious food and drinks as well as entertainment. I believe Martin and the team will maintain the high standards of the pub, and I cannot wait for my next visit.”

Martin said: “It was really nice to meet Dr Lewis and show him around The Swan and talk to him about what we have to offer.  The Swan is a great community pub and is a proper hub for the local community to come and have a drink with friends or have a family meal. Whatever the occasion, everyone is welcome.”

The Swan is a traditional countryside pub, with a large garden area, perfect for taking in the beautiful scenes of the New Forest and enjoying drinks under the sun. Inside is very spacious and provides a fresh and welcoming feel and has plenty of options for dining areas and seating to enjoy some drinks. The pub is also dog friendly, so you are more than welcome to bring your four-legged friend along.

There is also has a brand new, delicious menu with something for everyone. The Lunch Menu is served from 12pm to 4pm and features a range of sandwiches and pub favourites, that are sure to satisfy your midday hunger. The pubs main menu is served until 9pm and includes all the pub classics such as burgers and fish and chips, as well as home comforts including hearty pies. Not to mention that every Sunday, roasts are served, where you have the choice of four meats alongside all the trimmings, unlimited roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings and lashings of gravy.

To pair with the mouth-watering food or also great on their own, is the pubs refreshing drinks options. Housed in the bar, are cask and craft ales, wines, spirits and low or alcohol-free options. The Swan also offers some amazing cocktails and whilst we still have a little bit of summer left, there are some summer-style fruity cocktails on the menu.

Martin concluded: “We have so much to offer here at The Swan, you should definitely pop in and see us and try out our amazing new food menus and range of refreshing drinks. The team and I have so many ideas for the pub, and ways in which we can get everyone involved in what we have going on. This was a dream of mine and my wife’s, to run a countryside pub, and now that we get to run the wonderful Swan, it shows that dreams can become realities. I am excited to meet and get to know everyone in the Lyndhurst area and am very excited about the future of The Swan.”
