The Market Inn, Huntingdon has recently welcomed local MP, Jonathan Djanogly following its £218,000 investment by Stonegate Group a couple of months ago.

On hand to welcome the MP for Huntingdon, were Operators Christina and John as well as the pub team, who gave him a full tour of the pub, showcasing its new look. Mr Djanogly was able to see the host of changes made during the refurbishment.

On the tour, Jonathan was shown the pub’s function room which is being prepared for the upcoming FIFA World Cup with the installation of two HD TVs. The multi-purpose function room will be used for extra viewing during the world cup, as well as being available for guest functions, a space for community clubs and for use by the Mayor of Huntingdon for meetings.

Christina said: “It was great to be able to show Jonathan around our newly refurbished pub, especially as he mentioned he hasn’t been into the pub for nearly three years, so there were lots of new things to show him. A real change that he loved was our refurbished bar area, having moved the bar position during the refurb.”

As well as seeing the new-look Market Inn and finding out about the investment, John, Christina and the team were able to talk to him about the Craft Union Pub Company model, which the pub is part of, the hospitality industry and the range of beers available, where they come from and their storage.

John commented: “Jonathan was keen to find out how the pub is doing and know more about Craft Union. He was also very inquisitive about all our beers and was keen to find out about their storage, so we took him to the cellar to look around. As well as speaking to us on his visit, Jonathan had some conversations with our customers, which was lovely. We are a real community pub, and it was great to be able to show this to Mr Djanogly.”

Jonathan Djanogly said: “It was a pleasure to visit The Market Inn to see what changes have been made as a result of recent investment. John, Christina and the pub team are all doing a great job, especially in offering a welcoming space for local people to visit.

Huntingdon is home to some excellent businesses and community hubs, all of which have my wholehearted support as they continue going from strength to strength.”

The Market Inn also have events coming up for Remembrance Sunday and an 80s Night on Saturday 19 November, where you are welcome to dress up in your 80s outfits and party the night away.
