The Gatehouse, Lincoln has welcomed the Mayor of Lincoln, following its £200,000 investment by Stonegate Group earlier this year.

 

Operator Tara Clydesdale and the pub team have been showing The Gatehouse’s new look off to everyone in the Lincoln area, and continued to do this on the Mayor’s visit, giving her a tour of the pub and showing her all its new additions. Tara said: “Our investment has really modernised the pub and the team and I have been in love with its look since we stepped foot back into the pub earlier this year. It was great to show the Mayor around and tell her about all the changes made during the investment, and she like everyone else that has been into the pub gave compliments of its look.”

 

As well as showing the Mayor around, Tara and the team were able to tell the Mayor about the full of character, community pub’s offering and the involvement it has within Lincoln. The Gatehouse offers live sports, regular entertainment of live music and bingo, as well as great drinks, for all its guests.

 

Tara continued: “It has been really lovely welcoming back so many members of the Lincoln community to The Gatehouse. Whether it is regular faces or visitors to the area, we aim to make everyone feel as welcome as possible and strive to provide excellent service. We are very grateful for everyone’s continued support, and we are able to give back to everyone by offering a hub for the community, where you can come and have a drink with friends and family or enjoy some entertainment.”

 

The visit also gave the opportunity for the Mayor to go behind the bar and pull a few pints, learning the techniques from Tara and her skilled bar team.

 

Rosanne Kirk, Mayor of Lincoln, said: “I am delighted to have been able to visit The Gatehouse and meet with Tara and the pub team. I think the pub’s investment has really enhanced its offering and provides such a warm and welcoming feel for its guests. I enjoyed being able to get behind the bar and learn the art of pouring a pint, with the help of the pub’s superb team. Tara and everyone at The Gatehouse is doing a great job and I look forward to returning with my family.”
