Now part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, which is current title holder of the Best Community Pub Operator and is famous for establishing pubs in the heart of their communities, the New Masons Arms has reopened following a £260,000 investment.

Being transformed with a new look and feel inside and out, the New Masons Arms is the epitome of a community pub. With a warm and welcoming feel inside and upgrades to the bar area and seating, the pub is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a drink or two.

With the latest in audio-visual technology, the pub is the place to catch all the sporting action on BT Sport and Sky across eight TV screens around the pub. The garden has also been revamped with a TV and new seating making the New Masons Arms the best place in the area to catch all the sporting action.

The investment brings a new operator to the pub; however, many will recognise his familiar face, having grown up in Mexborough. Kyle Hawley, is taking over the running of the pub from his mum, Mandy.

Kyle said: “I am so excited about building on my mum’s legacy at the New Masons Arms and starting this new chapter at the pub. The feedback from our guests during our reopening week has been great. Our new look has given the pub a new lease of life and it is great to see so many locals enjoy the pub. I cannot wait to work with the community in supporting local events and causes in the coming weeks and months.”

The investment has also brought in a new pool table and illuminated dart board, adding a perfect opportunity for some healthy competition between friends and family. Further entertainment at the pub comes from its exciting line-up throughout the week. Starting the week sees the pub’s Live Music Mondays, Quiz Night Wednesdays, Free Pool and Poker night Thursdays, Race Day Friday afternoon and then resident DJs Friday and Saturday Nights.

Kyle continued: “We’ve got a fantastic offering of entertainment on offer here. Between our events throughout the week to our weekend music and live sport there really is something for everyone in the community.”

The pub celebrated its reopening with a party on Friday 9 December, offering free drinks to the local community and entertainment from DJ Dan Cresswell and firebreathers and stilt walkers.
