Cromwell’s Bar and Kitchen in Collingham has reopened following a considerable £250,000 investment that has seen its interior and exterior transformed.

The pub, which played host to famous Roundhead, Oliver Cromwell, has existed since the fifteenth century and continues to serve hospitality to the village of Collingham and modern-day travellers. Children and dogs are, as always, welcome.

Already an established favourite with locals and those in search of a cosy evening out, the investment has provided families, and individuals who have settled in the village, with an enhanced experience of comfort and high-definition entertainment.

Manager, Hayley Walker, said: “The thing I love most about my job is meeting new people and really getting to know my regulars – community is important to me, and I hope I can get to know everyone now we have reopened the door and are welcoming everyone back.”

Six outdoor TVs have been added to the impressive offering of five already inside the pub. This is excellent timing as landmark Rugby event Six Nations is underway.

Cromwell’s acre of outdoor seating and surrounding land makes this unique sporting offer possible and is likely to attract more residents to share in national sporting events with friends and neighbours. There is also a plan in play for an outdoor boules-lawn and other slower garden activities.

Cromwell’s has long been established as a favourite destination for Sunday lunch, which has always been at the heart of the pub’s menu. An expanded menu is now available to guests, making sure that everyone can enjoy a range of traditional ‘pub grub’ and vegetarian dishes alongside mouth-watering deserts and puddings.

An extended drinks selection is also being served-up with the pub’s new look, including a generous range of draft and cask ales. Hayley said: “I’ve been working in pubs for over nine years now and have been running a pub in Hull for the last three years and now feel like time is right for the move and new chapter!”
