The Victoria in Romford, is a pub at the centre of the community, providing a friendly space for locals as well as a welcome for those from the surrounding areas.
Operator of the pub, Suzanne Pinnock, has created a great community hub that provides a raft of entertainment including pool nights, live music, quiz nights and fundraising events and has been supported by many the local people and businesses. Local Councillor Judith recently visited the pub and praised Suzanne on her efforts in engaging and supporting not only the local community but also the surrounding areas of Romford. Judith has also helped Suzanne with ways of promoting the community pub within the area.
Suzanne said: “The Victoria is truly at the heart of the community, and my team and I love welcoming everyone and getting to know our guests a little more. It is always great to see returning faces to the pub as well as new ones, we are like a big family who supports one another as well as having a bit of fun together.”
Community is at the forefront of everything Suzanne and the team do. “At the pub, we wanted to support as many local people as we can. We hold weekly meat raffles and are currently holding a cost-of-living raffle, as well as supporting local pool teams. We have engaged with initiatives such as the ‘blood kit’ scheme and have just installed one installed at the site” Suzanne added.
To support more local causes and charities in the area, Suzanne and the team will be hosting a fundraising event on St Patrick’s Day on Friday 17 March to raise money for St Francis Hospice. This is followed by a further fundraiser at Easter in aid of Mitchells Miracles with fun for all the family planned.
Suzanne concluded: “We are so excited to be planning our upcoming fundraising events for St Francis Hospice and Mitchell’s Miracles, there will lots of activities taking place for everyone to enjoy. We cannot wait to welcome you all.”
