A popular Northumberland pub has been given a complete makeover to bring the very best of hospitality and live sport to the people of Cramlington and beyond.

The Lord of the Manor, which is located in Manor Walks Shopping Centre, will be holding a relaunch party across the last weekend of February to celebrate a refurbishment project that has given it an entirely new look.

The internal area has been renovated to make it open plan, with new furniture, lighting, fixtures, and a fresh design to provide a lighter and contemporary feel. The suntrap south-facing garden has also been made over with new seating and lighting.

The addition of new HD TV screens throughout the pub along with Sky Sports and BT Sport could not have come at a better time, with the Lord of the Manor’s reopening coinciding with Newcastle United’s Carabao Cup Final clash with Manchester United (Sunday, 26th February).

Husband and wife operators Bridget and Mark Byrne, who have been running the pub for more than five years, can’t wait to greet fans through the doors again.

Mark said: “It’s perfect timing with Newcastle doing so well and being in the Cup Final. We will have a great weekend with live entertainment and a charity event as well. We will be raising money for the food bank that is based just over the road from us.”

While the pub will show an array of live sport, including football, rugby, boxing and horse racing, the couple stressed that the Lord of the Manor is a pub that will show sport rather than being a sports bar.

There will be quiz nights, poker, and live music throughout the week, including a ‘buskers night’ to showcase local talent.  There is also the addition of a new pool table and illuminated darts board, with the couple keen to enter teams into local leagues.

Bridget said: “We are very much a community pub and we look forward to welcoming everyone back. If you haven’t been for a while, give us a try and we will guarantee a warm welcome and do everything we can to create a great atmosphere.

“The refurbishment is incredible and it is almost unrecognisable from before.”

The pub is part of the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company, who were named the Best Community Operator at the 2022 Publican Awards. Craft Union has invested more than £300,000 to give the Lord of the Manor a new lease of life.

The pub is family and dog friendly and is open throughout the day.

Keep up to date with all the events and offers on the pub’s website and Facebook page.
