Since reopening towards the end of last year after its six-figure investment by Craft Union Pub Company, the Lion in Southampton has been welcoming in many members of the community for a drink and to enjoy some great entertainment.

Recently, Operator Darron Clarke and the pub team welcomed the Lord Mayor of Southampton, to show her around the newly refurbished pub and tell her about their amazing offering and community involvement. Darron said: “Having our local Mayor visit was lovely, it was so nice to show her around our warm welcoming, modernised pub and talk her through all of the changes that were made.”

As well as talking about the pub’s refurbishment, Darron and the team were able to tell the Lord Mayor about their community involvement and great entertainment. To get everyone together to have some fun, the Lion offers regular live sports shown across their several TV screens, Karaoke nights and Pool afternoons. Darron added: “We offer lots of exciting entertainment that everyone can get involved with, and it is always great to see everyone enjoying themselves. The team and I were able to tell the Mayor how not only do our events bring a bit of fun, but they are ways to bring the Southampton community together.”

The Lord Mayor of Southampton said: “Visiting the newly refurbished Lion in Southampton was wonderful, its refurbishment has really made this local business thrive. I was pleased to hear about the pub’s community involvement, and how Darron and the team bring everyone in Southampton together at the pub. I wish the Lion team the best of luck for the future and cannot wait to watch the Lion continue to grow in popularity within the local area.”

The Lion will also be welcoming a new face behind the bar, as holding Operator Darron will be passing the community pub over to new Operator Tess who cannot wait to meet all the locals.
