The Flute and Flagon pub in Solihull is hosting a fun-filled charity games event on Sunday 30th April, from 7pm, for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

The much-loved local community pub will be hosting a free event, bringing together new and regular customers alike for an evening of fun to raise money and awareness for a fantastic cause. A variety of board games and table-top games will feature in the activities, which are sure to keep guests entertained all evening!

Across the event, which is running from 7pm-11pm, there will also be bingo, a quiz and a raffle, with ta raffle opportunity requiring just a £1 donation fee to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. All these games will result in a prize for the winner – so you and your loved ones can battle it out for a top spot and raise money for the award-winning charity at the same time.

As well as table-top games and board-game classics, there will also be ring toss, flip cup, beer pong and Jenga – no shortage of options to keep you and your friends competing for the crown. Of course, a visit to the local pub wouldn’t be complete without a drink in hand, and with cocktails on offer at 2 for 1 all evening, you can enjoy some classic mixes at great value whilst you test your gaming skills!

Emily Southcott, Deputy Manager of the Flute & Flagon, said: “MND is a disease that can affect anyone at any time and it has impacted many of our Pub Company’s colleagues and teams. This particular cause was voted for by our people and we are happy to be working with such great charities for the next year in our fundraising efforts!“

Motor Neuron Disease is a progressive disease, which gradually damages parts of the nervous system. The rare condition leads to muscle weakness, which can have a huge impact on quality of life. MNDA as a charity help to fund research into the disease and help to improve support and overall care for people with MND. The charity also helps to support families and carers who live and care for loved ones with the disease.

Emily added: “This event was set-up primarily as a fundraiser for the MNDA charity. We have a long-standing regular who was affected by this disease. It’s therefore a charity close to our hearts. We hope for the event to be engaging and fun, something we can give back to our local community.”
