The Windmill on Coronation Road, Wednesbury is currently preparing to reopen its doors on Wednesday 7 June, after a £232,000 investment by the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company.

The investment has breathed a new lease of life into the pub, with enhancements being made to modernise the pub. Inside, new furnishings and fittings have been installed, and the space has been redesigned to create a sports zone. A wonderful feature of the pub is its dual rooms, which can offer the potential for functions to take place and more space for guests to enjoy their wonderful local.

Sport is a huge part of the Windmill, where live sports will regularly be shown from BT Sports and newly added to the pub, Sky Sports. The sports fun does not stop there, there is also a pool table and darts board so you to enjoy some friendly competition. Local darts teams are also welcome, and Mondays and Wednesdays will play host to team matches.

If you are not a big sports fan, then do not fear as the Windmill has a whole host of other exciting entertainment throughout the week that you can look forward to and get involved with, including Quiz Nights, Live Music, DJ Nights and Karaoke.

It is not just the weekly entertainment and interior that has had a revamp, but the Windmill’s outside space has been transformed. With the sun shining and summer just around the corner, the pub’s fantastic garden is the perfect location for enjoying drinks in the glorious weather with friends and family!

The Windmill has an extensive drinks menu, which you are sure to find your favourite tipple. Highlights include beers such as Carling, John Smiths and Birra Moretti, wines and spirits.

Behind the bar, you will recognise a familiar face, as Operator Lisa Smith will be back running the Windmill in its new chapter. Lisa has been running pubs for over 20 years and has been at the Windmill for the last two years. She is local to the area, living with her family. She is a big supporter of the local community and causes and will continue to do all she can for local charities and the British Heart Foundation at a national level.

Lisa commented: “I am so excited to get the doors open again and welcome back the community of Wednesbury. The renovation that has taken place has completely transformed the Windmill, and it is so lovely to see it with its new look.

“I cannot wait to see what is in store for the pub in this new chapter, but there is so much to look forward to. The team and I cannot wait to serve you all drinks and have some fun with our weekly sports and entertainment. The local community is very important to us so we are going to do all we can to support them and offer a warm, welcoming place for them to come to. We look forward to seeing you all very soon!”

To celebrate the Windmill’s reopening and new look, Lisa and the team will be holding a launch party from Friday 23 June to Sunday 25 June. Kicking things off on Friday from 8pm will be live music, which will be the perfect soundtrack to an evening of drinks with friends and family. Onto Saturday, when the pub will transform into Vegas for the night, as it is Casino night, so pop down from 7:30pm to have some fun. Finally, to round off the weekend of celebrations, you will need to get your singing voices ready as there will be karaoke from 4pm.
