Neighbourhood staple Olde Cross Keys in Swansea has reopened its doors to customers old and new on the 1st June, after receiving a 6-figure investment from award-winning pub company Craft Union. The pub has had extensive renovations throughout and the long-standing operators are looking forward to welcoming customers to the uplifted space.
The Olde Cross Keys is one of the oldest pubs in Swansea and used to be a hospital before its transformation. Stuart and Rechelle have been long standing operators at the pub, for the last 5 years, and have run numerous pubs before, so have great experience and have created a real community feel pub in the centre of Swansea.
The pub has undergone various upgrades, most notably its refurbished garden area, which has been improved throughout, with extra seating, just in time for the sunshine – it’s the perfect place to catch some rays and share a drink with friends. The interior has also had a refresh, with further decorations throughout, additional seating and an upgraded function room, perfect for parties and events with loved ones.
Stuart and Rechelle, operators at The Olde Cross Keys, stated: “We’re really looking forward to the pub opening again. The new look and feel of the place is incredible, and bringing together the community is our main aim! We can’t wait to welcome people back in and look forward to seeing everyone there.”
The operators, as well as running the pub for the past 5 years and creating a community hub, are also currently raising money for the charity SANDS, and have also previously raised money for the Welsh Air Ambulance Service and intend to continue the good work!
As well as the upgraded garden and interior, the pub will be bringing in weekly entertainment to the pub, with lots to choose from! There will be bingo on a Tuesday, and live bands on a Saturday evening, as well as Karaoke on a Sunday, so there will be no shortage of opportunities to enjoy entertainment with friends and family. There will also be a darts and pool team, so you can get involved with some friendly competition and put your skills to the test!
Operators concluded: “Swansea is a great place to be, and the Olde Cross Keys is definitely a community favourite, which brings together locals and visitors alike. We can’t wait for everyone to see the renovations after the investment, and with a huge range of activities now available across the week we hope everyone will be getting involved!’
