Local, favourite pub, The Spitfire in Ainsdale, is set to re-open on Monday 12th June 2023, with a brand-new General Manager at the helm! The well-loved pub will also be hosting a fun-packed launch weekend across 28th, 29th and 30th July.
The Spitfire has been on a transformative journey since being built in 1999 on a former Battle of Britain RAF base, the inspiration behind its name. Opening with new management on 12th June, the pub will now be showcasing a brand-new food menu of pub classics, as well as a refreshed drinks menu. Highlights include a new wine list, cocktail menu, a new premium draught range, including Birra Morretti and Madri, and three new cask ales, too, including Wainwrights and Doombar, as well as a range of premium spirits.
The latest opening will now also see the pub have specific zoning within, to create more focused areas, including a bar area with new, large TVs which will show newly introduced Sky Sports, so you can catch all your favourite games!
As well as this, the children’s well-loved play area will be fully serviced, as well as brand new outdoor furniture being installed on the front decking, with new festoon lighting in the front and rear beer gardens, creating a relaxed and cosy atmosphere to unwind and enjoy al fresco food and drink, just in time for summer!

As well as the addition of Sky Sports, The Spitfire is also introducing weekly activities and entertainment, including a Wednesday quiz & bingo game, Thursday game show, live music on Saturday evenings, kids crazy Mondays, and roasts with live sports on a Sunday, so you won’t be short of things to get involved in!
On top of the weekly activities, The Spitfire will be hosting a family-fun launch weekend across the 28th, 29th and 30th July, which will include heaps of entertainment, including live music on Saturday evening, and a face painter and even a petting zoo on both Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm! There will also be an ice cream van on site, and various other family activities across the weekend so there is plenty for the whole gang to enjoy!
