Nuneaton is getting set to celebrate a historic moment as it prepares for its first ever Pride event, with renowned, singing drag comedian, Betty Bangs, at the helm, promising an evening of entertainment, inclusivity, and celebration!

Nuneaton Pride will take place at Riversley Park on Saturday, 1st July, from midday onwards. This milestone event has been made possible through the tireless efforts of Betty Bangs and the newly formed Pride committee, who have been working diligently to create a safe and supportive space for the LGBTQ+ community in Nuneaton and Bedworth.

Following the main event at Riversley Park, the official Nuneaton Pride 2023 after-party will commence at 8pm, hosted by Betty Bangs at The Silk Mill.

For the past 10 months, Betty Bangs has captivated audiences at The Silk Mill with her weekly Tuesday night Drag Bingo-Oke. This unique event has become widely popular with the local community, attracting a diverse range of customers, including a dedicated following from the Nuneaton and Bedworth LGBTQ+ community. It has not only provided a regular source of fun but also raised an impressive £350 to support Pride charities.

Emily Southcott, operator at The Silk Mill, said: “We are thrilled to be a part of Nuneaton’s first-ever Pride event. This celebration of diversity, inclusivity, and acceptance is a momentous occasion for the entire community.
