Sheffield favourite The Coach & Horses is bolting back into business, re-opening its doors on 7th July, with parties planned across the month to mark the occasion in the style!
The community local in the Chapeltown area of the city has been closed since early June for a major revamp throughout, but will open its doors again to customers on 7th July.
The opening will be followed by a host of events across the next few weeks, including a fun-packed casino night on Friday, 21st July. The following day there will be a charity fundraising event for the local hospice, St Luke’s.
The events and the re-opening will all be hosted by the familiar faces of Andy Openshaw and Bev Westney, who have been in charge at The Coach & Horses for 17 years.
Andy said: “We can’t wait to get open again. We’ve had so many customers come up to us and ask when we are going to be back because they really miss having their local pub. It’s been given a real lift with the works and we are looking forward to seeing everyone’s reaction. It is a great new look and design but we will remain a great value community local.”
The pub has been refurbished throughout, after a six figure investment from award-winning pub company Craft Union. With a new design featuring new furniture, flooring, furnishings and lighting, the pub has been uplifted throughout. The outside terrace has also been revamped, giving customers more ways to enjoy their favourite pub.
Sports fans will have even more reason to spend time at The Coach & Horses with the introduction of Sky Sports and BT Sport. It’s ideal timing with both Sheffield football teams experiencing promotion last season, United back to the Premier League and Wednesday to the Championship.
On top of live football, the pub will show all major events and sports including the culmination to this summer’s Ashes series as well as tennis and horse racing, so you can even get some friendly competition going with friends and family!
Andy said: “We’ll can’t wait to bring more live sport to the pub. The new season will be here soon and we’ll also be showing whatever customers want, such as Moto GP and cricket. We’ve not new screens and a sound system to really make the most of it.”
As well as enjoying watching sport at the pub, customers and the pub darts team can play on the new illuminated darts board.
Beyond the opening launch parties there will be events running every week at the pub, including quiz nights, poker nights and open mic sessions and DJs.
Keep up to date with all the events and offers on the pub’s website and on its Facebook page.
